Press Release - Radio Campaign 2010

The indie rock band Blue News is starting their 2010 radio promotion campaign. The band recently recorded the new single "So Easy" at Stables Studios near Bloomington, Indiana. The single comes from an upcoming EP "Good At Falling" which is set to be released in April of 2010. The song has already been submitted to over 400 radio stations, music magazines, blogs & podcasts and we’re just getting started! So get the word out! The band is working on a representation agreement with Music Service Company “Hook Music” based in Toronto ON. (http://hookmusic.tv). The company represents the music of hundreds of independent artists to the advertising, film/tv, gaming and multimedia communities. ROADTRIP NATION SOUNDTRACK
In 2007 the band had 2 songs in the soundtrack for the national TV documentary series Roadtrip Nation which aired on PBS Television and TBS Superstation. The songs (“Next Time” & “Love’s So Strong” from The Signs EP) were also included on the series DVD and CD soundtrack which was sent out to hundreds of colleges across the United States. We were recently contacted by the show because of a huge overhaul of their website and they are now streaming the songs from the 2007 soundtrack. Blue News To Play Nashville Showcase
November Event In Front Of Industry Executives

October 29th, 2009, Terre Haute, Indiana – The band Blue News will play a showcase in front of music industry representatives on November 6th at Soundcheck Rehearsal Studios in Nashville, TN. Soundcheck was created by Glenn Frey (of The Eagles) in 1992 and it is now the largest rehearsal studio complex in the world under one roof. Soundcheck is recognized as the rehearsal venue of choice by many top touring and recording acts and provided the backline production for the 2009 CMA’s. The band will play a 3-4 song audition for representatives from Band With A Mission - a company contracted by a number of different record labels to find their next artists. During their trip to Music City, the band will also play a live show at Café Coco at 7pm on November 5th.

The band Blue News first emerged on the scene in 2006 when their debut album was released by Statue Records Group of Hollywood, CA. Since then, they have generated a growing buzz reaching thousands of fans around the world due to their acclaimed original sound that draws upon various genres. Their unique style has allowed them to connect with fans of all ages around the world and has brought the band many exciting opportunities, like having two of their songs placed on national TV on the series Roadtrip Nation in 2007 and a recent invitation to record at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.

The lineup for Blue News includes; singer, songwriter and guitarist Brent Orndorff – founder of Terre Haute-based independent record label Blame Records, guitarist and backing singer Reggie Raisner - who toured and shared the stage with several big name bands like Nickelback, Hinder & Urge Overkill, and drummer Dustin Richardson - a 20 year old prodigy and a long time student-turned-teacher at Terre Haute’s Conservatory of Music. Over the past few years, the band has been fortunate enough to work together with a talented team of people who believed in the band's music and helped them reach new heights. Since 2006, Blue News has worked with INgrooves Digital Distribution of San Francisco, CA, Vigilant Radio Promotions and Volare Stare Entertainment of Minneapolis, MN. The group has also collaborated in the studio and on stage with a number of local musicians including; Travis Dillon, Eric Rasley, Jon Dacosta & Raven Grant, among others.

The band's latest album is a 13-track LP, Strange Light. Downloads and CDs are now available online or by calling 1-800-Buy-My-CD and the band is hoping to get their new record to hit retail store shelves in the near future. This is the first full-length album recorded and produced entirely in the band’s own state-of-the-art digital studio and self-released by Orndorff’s independent record label Blame Records. The band has an upcoming performance at Stable Studios outside of Spencer, IN in November, where the show will be recorded for an upcoming live album release. • A&R Showcase In Nashville

The band will play a 3-4 song audition for representatives from Band With A Mission (BWAM) BWAM is contracted out by a number of different Record Labels to find their next artists. They have weekly meetings with each company in order to update the Record Labels on the status of who they have seen, and who they should sign. BWAM was responsible for signing the Sidewalk Prophets (also from Indiana) & Rush of Fools, a Christian Rock/Contemporary Christian Music band from Alabama, who won the “Song of the Year Award” from ASCAP in 2008.

The band was recently invited to play in a new series of unplugged music videos shot on the streets of Terre Haute, IN called “Folked Up! (In Terre Haute)”. Our good friend Jon Dacosta (of the band Cuba) has teamed up with Terre Haute Show Rag and a video team including Patrick Boggs, Jet Kaiser www.jetkaiser.com & more. Blue News shot 2 videos so far – featuring 2 new unreleased songs – “Wasted Days” & “Be Yourself (And You’ll Go Far) - and they’re floating around online now. We were amazed by the turnout and thank everyone involved for including the band! Our new videos can be seen online soon at: www.myspace.com/wabashpartywww.youtube.com/user/TerreHauteShowRag and will also be posted on our website, youtube and vimeo in 2 weeks.

• Radio Campaign
We’re preparing to attack the radio waves to spread the word about the band’s music. We’ll be contacting several radio stations for radio play, on-air interviews and free live in-studio performances. A list of all stations and events will be posted online. We’re always looking for new connections and new ways to get our band heard!
